Information on Studying

If you are a degree student or an exchange student in a Finnish university of applied sciences, you can use the oncampus.fi services. The courses offered on this website can in most cases be included into your degree in a Finnish UAS.

In some respects the courses offered here resemble classroom studies: they are evaluated, tutored and guided. They may also include exercises and exams. They are graded by the university in charge of the course. As a rule all this takes place online. The Finnish Online UAS is a real, virtual and fully functioning educational institution - all at the same time.

How to apply for a course at the Finnish Online University of Applied Sciences

• Enter the Study Services section. Search for the courses to find one that interests you.
• If you are a degree student in a university of applied sciences, first consider carefully how to utilize the course from another UAS in your individual study plan.
• Talk to your study advisor or the person in charge of your degree programme at your home university about including a course from another university into your study plan. If you choose courses that fit your study plan, your student advisor will be likely to support your idea. If your home university supports you, it will also pay for your studies taken through the Finnish Online University of Applied Sciences at another university of applied sciences.
• Register into the portal as a student of your own university using the electronic registration form (unless you have already done this before). Please note that registration is needed only once.
• Sign into the service.
• Enter the Study Services section and send an electronic application for the course you are interested in.
• Your application will be handled within two weeks counting from the end date of the application period.
• You can follow up the status of your application in the Study Services section as as signed-in user.
• When your electronic application has been handled, you will receive an email notice informing you about the decision.

Should I choose Open UAS instead?

Those who are not degree students in any of the Finnish universities of applied sciences can apply for courses at the Open UAS website. Open UAS studies are as a rule chargeable for all students.
