Applying for courses

Studies in the Finnish online university of applied sciences are free of charge for students of universities of applied sciences as part of their degree studies.

By logging in to the portal and entering the Study Services you will be able to search for the courses currently available. When you find a course that interests you, first check with your university whether you can include it in your studies.

Steps to fill in an electronic application

In the Study Services, when you choose Course Supply, a new search window will appear that enables you to find courses that interest you. To apply, double click the title of the course in the box below, and an electronic application form appears on the right. Check the box "I agree to carry out the course if I will get the study right". In the Motivations field, explain why you want to attend this course. Also define whether you want to include the course in your basic, vocational, or optional studies. If you have agreed attending this course with a teacher in your own university of applied sciences, also check the box "Arranged with the teacher". Then click the Send button to send your application forward.

Then you can start following the application process. Within two weeks of the end of the enrolment, your application will be processed by both your home university and the university in charge of the course.

Following the application process

You can follow the advance of your applications in the Own Applications section of the Study Services.

If your application is Waiting for support, your university of applied sciences has not yet processed it. If it is Waiting for receiving university's acceptance, your application has been supported by your home university but is still waiting to be processed in the university in charge of the course. When your application has been processed by both universities, you will see it either under Accepted on the course section or in the Rejected applications. You will also receive an e-mail message that will be sent to the address you have given when registering to the portal.

You can cancel your application until the end of the enrolment period. Until then, you can also supplement your motivations.
